James Johansen was born and raised on Long Island , N.Y

A self taught artist who works in  various mediums.” I love the ocean and i enjoy painting in both a feel of realism and contemporary” people have called them romantic. My other paintings which i call  ‘Storytelling” has to do with being inspired by the minds of children as well as places i visit or happen to “find” this could include a great tree or animals which i love.

My time spent here on New York and the decade i lived in Aspen Colorado are my main inspirations, though my time in different countries have also been a inspiration.
